Get ready to be dazzled by ‘Bright Star,’ the latest theater performance that’s set to light up the stage. This new production promises a captivating blend of heartfelt storytelling, stunning visuals, and unforgettable music.
Now that you’re interested, let’s dive into what makes ‘Bright Star’ special. This performance is based on a true story that takes place in the 1920s and the 40s. It is loosely based on an old folk story called “The Iron Baby.” We interviewed the director of the performance, Mr. Robey, and asked him a couple of questions about why he picked this as the next performance in Kilbourne.
Our first question for him was, “What is the show about?” Mr. Robey explained, “It’s a true story where they found a baby seemingly thrown off of a train, and it survived the fall. People wondered, and it went viral in the media at that point. People were wondering, like, what happened? What led up to that?” Mr. Robey was very excited to get into all the details about ‘Bright Star’ and how he became very intrigued by the original story.
He also told us about who first made the story: “Steve Martin, the comedian, and Edie Brickell, a bluegrass musician, got together and wrote a story about that. What if? And I think it’s really gorgeous.”
We also asked a couple of questions about how long it took to make the performance happen. Mr. Robey said, “We started our rehearsal in late September, early October, so we’ve been going all the way since then. So it’s like two and a half months to put the show together.”
Asking questions and learning the story behind the performance makes it ten times better than before, knowing that there’s a deeper meaning behind it.
