This Valentine’s Day was extra sweet this year with the highly anticipated release of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short N’ Sweet” deluxe album. The album featured 5 brand new songs: 15 Minutes, Please Please Please (feat. Dolly Parton), Couldn’t Make It Any Harder, Busy Woman, and Bad Reviews. After listening to the deluxe album, I had mixed feelings about some of the songs, so let’s take a closer look.
15 Minutes – 8/10
“15 Minutes” was definitely one of my favorite songs on the album. I really enjoyed the beginning part and the bridge was pretty decent. I wasn’t a big fan of the main part but it didn’t ruin the song. Carpenter’s vocals were very good and she was able to showcase her range which added depth to the song overall.
Please Please Please (feat. Dolly Parton) – 2/10
This song was by far my least favorite of the deluxe songs. I am not a country music fan at all so it didn’t come as a surprise to me when I turned it off halfway through. This song is a remix of Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” from her official album “Short N’ Sweet” which I liked a lot more. In all honesty, there was nothing about this song that jumped out at me so I give it a 2/10.

Couldn’t Make It Any Harder – 6/10
There were a lot of great things about this song, but also a lot of not so great things. I felt that this song was a bit too slow and boring as I lost interest in it once it reached the second verse. It had some country melodies in the background which, again, I am not the biggest fan of. However, Sabrina Carpenter’s voice in this song was very nice and it made the song more enjoyable to listen to despite the country aspects.
Busy Woman – 10/10
“Busy Woman” was 100% by number one favorite off of the album! The melody was very catchy and the lyrics were unserious and humorous which I enjoyed. It has been on repeat for me since it’s release and I haven’t gotten tired of it! This song was put together very well and it seemed like the epitome of Carpenter’s writing style. If you haven’t yet, I would highly recommend having a listen!

Bad Reviews – 8.5/10
This songs was higher up on my list, but still not a fan of the country instrumentals. Luckily, there are other components that improved its score, despite my dislike for country music. Like the other songs on Carpenter’s deluxe album, she was able to showcase her range and use her voice in a very satisfying way. I enjoyed listening to it and I think it really brought the album together.
