This week, The Ravine would like to recognize one of our very own Worthington Kilbourne High School staff members, Mr. Robey, as Wolf Of The Week! Mr. Robey is only in his 6th year of teaching, yet he has already made such a huge impact on our school.
Mr. Robey is arguably most notable around WKHS for his dedication and involvement in our theater program. Robey “did theatre in high school” and was involved in several productions, but didn’t “feel the effects of what [he] learned from it” until he was in college. Through being involved in theatre performances himself, to directing them for our students, Mr. Robey emphasized how “it has given [him] empathy, problem-solving skills, and many close connections” and relationships that he will for life. Robey further detailed his joy in getting to “introduce [his] passion to other people” and commented on how he is “constantly impressed by the incredible work of our [WKHS] students.”

Mr. Robey does not teach theatre exclusively, however. This year, Mr. Robey teaches English III along with Theatre Survey, Theatre Technology and Design, and Theatre Repertory. When asked about his favorite part of teaching, Robey expressed his enjoyment of getting “to work with people who genuinely want to work and improve.” He further added how rewarding it feels “to see students evolve from freshmen, to fully capable adults by graduation.”
The Ravine asked Mr. Robey what his message to WKHS students and staff would be in which he emphasized that “whether it’s theatre, an art, a sport, a club, or a job, taking steps to find out more about what you love and putting down roots here at Kilbourne is a critical step to becoming a successful human.” He added that, “our school creates so many opportunities that…students [should] take advantage of now, and realize that your actions here absolutely do matter!”
“Real life” has already begun! – Mr. Robey
Mr. Robey’s positive energy has made WKHS a better place and we are so excited to feature him in The Ravine! Make sure to say hi if you see him around school and get tickets to see Macbeth this weekend! Go Wolves!
