A girl
8 years old
With a mind full of joy
And a need for fun, chaos, and scares
I devised a plan
A prank that will bring laughs
And screams
It was devious and sneaky
to switch liquids that have no difference
Both behave in a still matter till sprayed
The dark icy blue liquid would turn out to be the perfect surprise
Easter evening, a dinner gathering
I had offered to wipe down the table
Switching the bottles of Windex
A glimmering “Cool Blue” gatorade taste
It didn’t bubble like windex as I sprayed it
Enhancing the streaks and tackiness to the table
Laughter in every moment possible
I giggle silently, waiting
Hoping
That everything works out
Everyone sits, the relaxed gathering of the family was joined by a faint smell
A sweet smell around the table
One, Two, Thr-
The bottle flies out of my hands like an electric shock
It flew, and flew.
Landing on the floor as my aunt screams
Horror, concern, fear
“What are you doing Sofia?!” The only words spoken
In panting breaths from my aunt as she held her hand
On her chest
Gatorade drips on my chin
microscopic drops sprayed all around my mouth
Laughter, joy, fun.
A prank lived many years in memories
