Wolf of the Week: Luke Page

Over the weekend Kilbourne’s very own star senior athlete Luke Page was honored by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame for his accomplishments on and off the field as a scholar athlete.

Such accomplishments include him breaking the schools single season All Purpose Yards record, having run 2143 yards as Kilbourne’s running back.

When asked about the difficulties of balancing sports and school Luke responded “It can definitely be hard sometimes to balance school with sports especially if a practice goes a little long or something and I run out of time to do assignments, but most of the time I can find a system that works for me and coaches/teachers.”

For a lot of student athletes the idea of balancing so many things at once can seem overwhelming, but it’s important to understand that your coaches and teachers understand your problems and are almost always willing to help work around issues such as scheduling in order to help that balance come more easily.

Luke adds on to this point by making sure to thank his teachers and coaches because he “wouldn’t have been as committed [to his athletics] without their support.”

One piece of advice Luke has for upcoming high school students is to “definitely try sports or clubs out because there is a group of people for everyone and it makes your high school experience so much better in every way to have a connection like that.”

Page has been a three sport athlete since his freshman year at Kilbourne, finding success in not only football but also basketball and lacrosse. He has also recently committed to play football at Ohio Dominican University and has an undoubtedly bright future in athletics.
