Senior Baccalaureate is a Worthington Kilbourne tradition hosted every year to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class and to showcase the individual and collective talent for senior parents. It’s a non-religious, all-inclusive event hosted by members of the activity club in partnership with a senior committee that coordinates all aspects including the performances, senior slideshow, event promotions and program design, event emcees, art displays, and sending out invitations to all senior households. The senior baccalaureate for the class of 2026 is comprised of 14 senior Kilbourne students who represent a wide array of activities and demographics within Kilbourne in order to celebrate the vast spectrum of talent within Kilbourne through their work in 5 subcommittees–each of which coordinate a facet of the ceremony that incorporates a sect of Kilbourne senior talent.
Performance Coordination Team
This year Spencer Navin, Elise Johansen, and Mia Manning make up the Performance Coordination Team.
Elise Johansen explained to us how her committee made their selections.
She said, “We chose the performers by asking around to a lot of performers that we know in the performance arts programs and seeing who would be interested.”
The performers will represent a wide range of talent from Kilbourne in order to showcase the strong and supportive arts programs that WKHS offers for students.
Slideshow
Charlotte Aagnes, Lia McGlone, and Aya Ahmed are putting together the senior slideshow for the class of 2026.
Charlotte shared with us, “The slideshow is a fun way that we get to celebrate how far us seniors have come from childhood to graduation.”
The slideshow committee creates a unique way to commemorate the growth of the senior class, and it never fails to get the audience laughing and crying as we look back on the memories from our time in high school.

Publicity and Design
Grace Glaros, Ben Davis, Olivia Wilkerson, and Felicity Hess are leading the Publicity and Design committee for this Baccalaureate.
The publicity and design team for Baccalaureate handles all the social media and advertising components of the night and highlights that Baccalaureate night is an event for all seniors and their families to celebrate the accomplishments of the class.
Ben Davis emphasized this, telling us, “Everyone is welcome!! The baccalaureate is meant to have been a fun, family event where we celebrate the accomplishments of the seniors.”
Art Display Team
Maya Marano and Felicity Hess are coordinating the art displays this year. They have selected an assortment of physical art to showcase the beautiful artistry of Kilbourne seniors and worked with the art department and teachers to create a holistic and inclusive display.
Event Emcees
Ella Schumacher, Quinn McGlone, and Shion Jamshidi are the event emcees for this year’s baccalaureate.
Quinn described the emcee’s approach to hosting the ceremony, telling us, “I’m approaching emceeing with positive energy. I’m hoping to keep the ceremony upbeat and celebratory throughout the night.”
Speakers
The Baccaluareate Senior Celebration also features two speakers each year. This Kevin McGlone will be featured as the parent speaker.

Another senior parent Chris Glaros will be featured as the keynote speaker.

Baccalaureate is a special way for the senior class to celebrate their time “in high school and come together in doing so.
Quinn summed up the celebration’s purpose perfectly, “I’m hoping the senior class can get a real opportunity to look back on how much they have accomplished, and notice how special this group of students has been. It’s the night before a really special day and I’m hoping they all have a good time.”

Make sure to be at the Class of 2026 Baccalaureate Ceremony on May 22, 7pm at Worthington Christian Church!
